Patient Monitor Design Change and Software Update

The Omni Series patient monitor will go through a series of updates within the first quarter of 2010.  All Omni series patient monitors will change color from Grey and white to a solid white color.  The new color change gives the line of patient monitor technology a new fresh look for 2011.  Also, the Omni II patient monitor will have an upgrade to the carrying handle.  The carrying handle will be made more streamline and rigid to withstand rigorous transport applications. 

 On Jan 15th 2011, patient monitor software version 8.0 will be available for Omni patient monitor line. Software version 8.0 will feature the patient monitoring upgrades below:

Kernel Version 8.0.0 Improvements:

1. Two types of ECG for the patient monitors: 3/5 lead ECG mode switch and capture of pace signal.
2. 3 Waveforms Patient Monitoring Mode. This Display Mode is the Default Mode for 3-lead ECG Choice.
3. OxyCRG and Large Font Display Mode display 3-channel waveforms.
4. ECG Verify function: After input the password “TEST….” in the Factory Setup menu item, the ECG Verify menu item will be active. Switch on the ECG Verify menu item, Patient Monitor will create 1mV ECG square waveform to verify the ECG module.
5. Merge HR parameter setup menu item to HR Setup Menu.
6. Patient monitoring Waveform Setup: sweep color select.
7. Patient monitor screen brightness level setup function. (This feature only applies to Omni patient monitors).
8. The patient weight of Drug Calculation can be inputted by the kg or lb unit.
9. Change the default calibrated values of NIBP to zero.

(Other Patient Monitor Modules Software Improvements):

1. ERT Version undated to 3.0: 3/5 lead switch feature and pace signal detection;
2. Keyboard brightness level setup feature.
3. Change FPGA waveform height limit from 127 pixels to 255 pixels and add pace mark on the screen.

Kernel Version 8.0.1 Patient Monitor Improvements：

1. The optional module waveforms can be displayed in the 3 Waveforms Patient Monitoring.
2. Changed the sample frequency of the ECG from 256Hz to 500Hz. Change the sample frequency of the Respirator from 128Hz to 250Hz.
3. Change the patient monitor ECG Filter mode from Filter, Unfilter to Monitor, Surgery and Diagnose. Change the ECG Notch mode from ON, OFF to OFF, 60Hz and 50Hz.
4. The frequency band of the Patient Monitor Filter mode is from 0.5Hz to 40Hz. The frequency band of Surgery Filter mode is from 1 to 20 Hz. The frequency band of Diagnose Filter mode is from 0.05Hz to 150Hz.
5. Changed the number setup menu from pop-up menu to rotation menu. (This feature only adapt to the Omni III patient monitor. Same as old version because last change is not good for user).
6. NIBP Inflation Mode (STAT, Auto and Manual) can be saved permanently.
7. Modify words and phrases from English to Portuguese in the Portuguese Language Mode. (A few still no exact translation.)
8. Modify Patient Monitor Alarm Mode:

1. After powering on the Patient Monitor, the alarm will beep once. The yellow LED light will illuminate until the logo is displayed.
2. After clicking the Silence button, all alarms will cease. Click the Silence button once again, and the sound and light alarm of the low level alarm will cease. The alarm information will still be displayed.
3. The sound and light alarm of the low level alarm will be triggered on the alarm is switched from off to on. For example, when ECG from lead on to lead off.

• ERT Version improved to 4.0:

Change the sample frequency of the ECG from 256 to 500 Hz. Change the sample frequency of the Resp from 128 to 250 Hz. The ECG Filter Mode changed to:

• Mode 1: 0.5Hz – 40Hz filter + 60Hz Notch
• Mode 2: 0.5Hz – 40Hz filter + 50Hz Notch
• Mode 3: 1Hz – 20Hz filter + 60Hz Notch
• Mode 4: 1Hz – 20Hz filter + 50Hz Notch
• Mode 5: 0.05Hz – 150Hz filter + Notch Off
• Mode 6: 0.05Hz – 150Hz filter + 60Hz Notch
• Mode 7: 0.05Hz – 150Hz filter + 50Hz Notch

Kernel Version 8.0.0 Patient Monitor Improvements：

1. Separated parameter setup menu into parameter setup menu and waveform setup menu. Add the Omni III patient monitor waveform setup menu.
2. Modified the Optional Module switch method:
• Cancel the old password “IBP OPEN”, “CO2 OPEN” and “GAS OPEN”.
• Add the software S/N. The software S/N is same as main board S/N. This S/N can only be inputted once by manufacturer and cannot be modified.
• If users want to open IBP, EtCo2 or Gas, they must get the patient monitor passwords first and enter Optional Module Setup Menu and input password. Please note the password is generated from different S/N. 
3. Developed the Respirator Gain Setup feature.
